How does FBA Band compare?

A note from Mrs. Conard:  FBA has an outstanding band program and students. I am always very honored to get to work with such talented young kids. As it comes time to think about enrolling for next year, I do hope the results shown below will help you see that FBA is a great choice for your child. I also ask for you to pray that our band program continues to grow and stay strong and competitive.

I put together a chart of how the FBA middle school band students compared to students from other private and public schools in our region based on the region audition results. I included all the schools that brought between 15-25 students to audition. (Names of schools have been deleted.)

I am happy to report:
FBA has the highest number of students that placed in the Symphonic Band (the top group), and we are among the top 3 performing schools!

You might ask yourself, "What about the schools that brought more than 25 students?" One school brought the largest group with 75 students. This is how they compared:

While quantity can be impressive, quality is what we continue to strive for. Thank you, God, for blessing us beyond measure! Way to go, FBA!

Stars of the Season

The FBA Eagle Band played at Fiesta TX for Holiday in the Park on Saturday, December 6, 2014. After the performance, students (and Mrs. Conard) had fun riding the roller coasters!

ATSSB All-Region Band 2014-2015

Not only do these kids look good, but they're talented, too! ;)

We had a pizza picnic on a chilly day at LaVernia City Park.

The Region Band Clinic and Concert was held at LaVernia HS on December 8, 2014. It was a long day of rehearsals, but the students had fun. The Concert Band clinician was John Rauschuber from Fredericksburg ISD. The Symphonic Band was led by Dr. Caroline Beatty from Texas State University. Both bands played wonderfully.

Four of the students shown above made All-Area and will be auditioning for the All-State Band on Saturday, January 10 at Orange Grove HS. Good luck to our FBA students!
