The band received a “Superior” rating in sight-reading.

Earning a superior in both concert and sight-reading contests gave the band the “Sweepstakes Award.”

We were one of two bands that received "Sweepstakes."

Eleven 2A schools were present on Saturday. Our school earned almost 200 points more than any other school and was named:

“2014-2015 TAPPS 2A State Champions”

We could not have done any of this without placing God at the forefront of everything we do. We truly have some amazingly talented students here. Please congratulate the band for their accomplishments. The band says, “Thank you parents, teachers, and administrators for your support and encouragement.”

The band’s spring concert  - "Around the World in 60 minutes" - will be held Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm in the Sanctuary. All are invited to attend and celebrate with us.

HS Region Band Forms due!

Region Band forms are due!
11/13 for a grade of 100
11/14 for a grade of 90.
11/17 for a grade of 80.
11/18-11/21 for a grade of 70.
No forms will be accepted after 11/21.
Those who are planning to audition and return the form 11/18-11/21 will be charged an $8 late fee by the region.

Region band is a HUGE honor, and FBA has amazingly talented band students. We need to send the top musicians to accurately represent each school's band programs and our region. Remember - YOU have a chance to advance to Area and then on to STATE!

If you still haven't decided, you DO have this weekend to practice the music and PRAY about it.
A final decision does not have to be made until next Friday. A lot can be accomplished in a few weeks on the music. God will make a way where there seems to be no way. Making all-region band is not what equates to success, though. Maintaining a positive attitude and putting forth a worthy effort far outweigh talent. Do not be discouraged with past audition results, and do not let the enemy attack your spirit and motivation.

Students, if you are unsure and would like to talk, please come talk to me.

Remember:  Instructional Videos (click here) are online. They will help you! Please watch them!

I am available the Week of November 17th and also the 23rd-25th of November. Please schedule a 1-hour lesson with me to work on the music.

Love you all,
Mrs. C
